Overview

Patrick was a regular for three years at Wright State. He had a big junior season, batting 326/403/733 with 20 home runs. He missed the early part of the 2024 season due to a broken thumb. That may have affected him when he returned, as he hit only 244/373/488. He swings and misses a lot, striking out in a third to a quarter of his ABs. He played mostly center in college and runs very well. He stole 31 bases in 35 tries as a sophomore, 17 of 18 as a junior. Baseball America ranked him 284th among draft prospects. Patrick signed for the slot amount just before the deadline.

2024

The Pirates activated Patrick at Bradenton in time for him to get into 16 games. Like their other college hitting draftees in 2024, he struggled to make contact. He hit 178/315/222 and struck out 19 times in 54 plate appearances. Patrick split his time between left and center.
