With the draft and trade deadline over with, we have updated our top 25 prospects in the Pirates system for the 2024 season.

This will be the final update during the season. There is no change at the top, as Bubba Chandler holds on to the top spot by unanimous decision.

1. Bubba Chandler, RHP, Age: 21

Best Pitch: Fastball

Scouting Report: Drafted in the third round out of Georgia, Chandler was a two-way star with a scholarship to play baseball and football at Clemson. His raw athleticism allowed him to work quickly through the lower levels, and now he is focusing solely on pitching; you can see the flashes of the upside on a nightly basis. He can run the fastball into the upper 90s, and it has plus life, especially up in the zone. His change-up has become above-average and also flashes more at times. The breaking pitches (he has sometimes thrown a slider and curveball) have shown promise but need more work. The biggest issue is his control, which sometimes wavers, and somewhat violent delivery; there could also be a reliever risk at some point in his career.
