From the Backfields: Observations from Pirates' City
Pirates play three inning intrasquad scrimmage
With the Pittsburgh Pirates off on Wednesday, I watched some minor league action at Pirates’ City. There was supposed to be a scrimmage against some of the Atlanta Braves, but they played a three-inning intrasquad game instead.
The lineups were primarily comprised of players you’d expect to be either in High-A Greensboro or Double-A Altoona this season.
Here are a few observations from the day, including some video I was able to take:
