Gameday 10: Pirates look to for series win against Baltimore Orioles
After splitting the first two games, the Pirates look to take the rubber match against the Orioles.
The Pittsburgh Pirates look to win their first series at home this series after splitting the first two games against the Baltimore Orioles.
After losing the first game on Friday, the Pirates blew a late lead and eventually won in extra-innings yesterday.
It was David Bednar’s second blown save on the season. Luis Ortiz pitched 1.2 of the two extra-innings they played, and Oneil Cruz drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th.
Playing his first game as a Pirates, Joey Bart hit a home run and double in each of his first two at-bats.
Marco Gonzales is expected to make his second start of the season and will be opposed by Dean Kremer of the Orioles.
First pitch is expected at 1:35 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
With the rosters out and games being played this weekend, I took a look at some players to watch for the Altoona Curve beyond the obvious names like Bubba Chandler and Anthony Solometo.
Today’s Feature
Continuing from yesterday's Double-A players to watch, I gave three more names—plus a bonus one—for High-A Greensboro. I will follow up with three more on Tuesday with Bradenton.
I’m on a Marauders email list where, among other things, they send out emails about roster moves. The Pirates just moved Joaquin Tejada — RH reliever who came in the Tyler Anderson deal — up from the FCL. First email, though, said it was Joaquin Phoenix.
Need to keep Jose Hernandez around. He gets into two games at the start of the season because somebody's on paternity leave and he picks up a save. Comes back due to an injury and immediately gets a W.
