The Pittsburgh Pirates exploded for a season-high eight runs, knocking off divisional opponent St. Louis Cardinals 8-4. Joey Bart hit a triple and a home run, the first of the year for each.
Endy Rodriguez and Andrew McCutchen also hit doubles.
Carmen Mlodzinski pitched five innings, allowing just a run and striking out six. Thomas Harrington, making his second big league appearance, pitched four innings and earned the save. He struck out five while walking one and allowing three runs.
Paul Skenes will make his third start of the season, coming off a fantastic outing against the Tampa Bay Rays. He allowed an unearned run across seven innings pitched.
He will face Sonny Gray, who allowed five earned runs in his previous start. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm ET.
