Gameday 12: Pirates look for two-game sweep against Detroit Tigers

After a rough outing in his first two starts of the season, Mitch Keller looked better in this third outing, picking up his first win of 2024 in the process.
Keller allowed two earned runs across six innings, walking three batters and striking out nine.
Josh Fleming, Aroldis Chapman, and Ryder Ryan came in from the bullpen and closed the door to get the win on Monday for the Pirates.
Bryan Reynolds hit his 100th career home run, and Andrew McCutchen came just short of his 300th.
Reynolds, McCutchen, Jack Suwinski, and Connor Joe picked up multiple hits on the night.

The Pirates will look to complete the two-game sweep of the Tigers before heading on the road for seven straight.

Yesterday’s Feature
Every Monday is our ‘10 Observations’ feature, where we look at some things that stood out to us over the past week in the minors.
Bednar clearly isn't ready to pitch in the majors, much less close. Holderman supposedly is in the clubhouse today. Time for an IL stint.
There seem to be guys on this team who want playing time.
