Gameday 122: Pirates look to avoid sweep after a pair of blowouts.
Mitch Keller vs Brandon Woodruff
After two embarrassing losses, the Pittsburgh Pirates will try and avoid a sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers.
They’ve been outscored 21-1 in the first two games, with even Paul Skenes getting roughed up, allowing four runs over four innings pitched.
To make matters worse, Oneil Cruz left the game early after colliding with Jack Suwinski in the outfield.
Mitch Keller will be on the mound for the Pirates, trying to help avoid the sweep. He’s a winner of four straight decisions dating back to June 27. He allowed two earned runs over 5.2 innings pitched his last time on the mound.
Milwaukee will have Brandon Woodruff pitch. He’s 4-0 in six starts this season, posting a 2.29 ERA over 35.1 innings pitched.

Javier Rivas aims to master English to be a better leader
It’s not hard to find Javier Rivas on the baseball field. There aren’t many 6’6” baseball players that can handle shortstop, but Rivas is among the best defenders at the position in the Pirates’ system.
We have monthly and yearly plans available, with the latter costing an average of $4.16/month.
