Gameday 125: Battle For Last Place Of NL Central Begins Monday
The Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals meet for a three game weekday series, the loser? They take over last place in the NL Central.
After losing on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Pirates head into their series against the St. Louis Cardinals with a half game lead for fourth place in the NL Central.
The last time the two teams played each other, the Pirates picked up a three game sweep at home, and own a 5-2 record against the Cardinals this season.
St. Louis recently called up their top prospect, Masyn Winn, after hitting 18 home runs and stealing 17 bases for Triple-A Memphis this season.
For the Pirates, they are coming off dropping two of three against the Minnesota Twins - which includes getting two-hit on Sunday.
First pitch is currently scheduled for 7:05 pm ET.

Seeing how well Falter did last evening, I thought it would be a good time to check in on our old friend Rodolfo Castro.
Castro continues to struggle. He is 2 for 17 with the Phillies with no extra base hits, giving him a slash line of .118/.211/.118. So no miracle cures in a Phillies uniform just yet.
This is an outrage! The Cardinals are trying to rob the Pirates of their rightful last place finish. Last place is Bob's legacy, his birthright. The Cards are pretenders! Usurpers! Surely the baseball gods will not tolerate this mockery!
