Dejan thinks Griffin and Chandler getting promoted so Ben can change the subject.

Feeds into the “focusing on how we can get better in 2026” narrative. I thought the same thing.

Shugart down to make room for Bubba. Why on earth wouldn't you send down Holderman?

Expand full comment
TNBucs's avatar

Yeah, Shugart should be in the circle of trust, and someone that you'd want more info on for '26.

Sisk down.

I'm not enthused about Sisk, but I'd have released Heaney and sent Holderman down. But never mind me, I just want to see the team improved.

Yeah, why not learn more about Sisk for '26?

That's literally what Ben said he wanted to do two days ago.

Every last thing the guys says is just BS.

I guess Sisk sealed his fate by throwing back to back scoreless innings

Unfortunately, it’s because Fraizer and Bae went on IL. Feel really bad for Fraizer. Awful timing.

Bae and Matt Fraizer both on the IL now, so they needed an OF

Hope nothing serious for either. Was kind of hoping Fraizer might get a little look in September.

That’s the sort of shot a competent FO would take. Not BC, of course, but we could hope he’d mistake Fraizer for Adam Frazier.

I don't think he can even get to a big enough sample to worry much about. He might get 80 PAs at AA yet this year.

Fun game to be at today. 5 innings from Oviedo. Nicholas and Mattson did their job. Santana with the save. The Blue Jays fans booing Tommy Pham had no idea that was actually helping him hit better. I'm not sure there is anyone left in the majors wired like Pham.

they honestly have to bring tommy pham back next year and i can't believe i'm saying that.

You’ll get Lane Thomas or a Michael A. Taylor encore. Just looking at free agents and seeing which signings would send me over the edge. I think these two are leading right now.

I just watched his postgame interview and came here to post something similar. I hadn't realized until he mentioned that he thinks he has a chance to win the Gold Glove that he leads all NL LFs in DRS and is 2nd in all of MLB to Kwan. When all outfielders are considered, he slips to 5th in the NL and 12th in all of MLB. Excellent regardless.

So yes, bring him back!

(He did comment on being booed every game in the first half of the season, so I'm not sure he'd want to come back.)

something tells me he's weird enough to actually feed off that, lol

I think when the Pirate fans booed him, he felt it was deserved. However, when the Blue Jays fans booed him, it was extra incentive to kick their asses. Some of his post-season games the last few seasons, he has just taken over... even after bad regular seasons.

Stout outing by Oviedo. Can't have too much starting pitching, but with Skenes, Keller, Jones, Burrows, Oviedo and Ahscraft, the Bucs may have more than most teams.
