Gameday 129: Mitch Keller On The Mound As Pirates Look For First Win Against Cubs
After losing Thursday night, the Pirates are now 0-7 against the Chicago Cubs this season.
Backed by six strong innings by Andre Jackson, the Pirates hung tight and forced extra innings, but ultimately dropped their seventh straight against the Chicago Cubs this season.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Connor Joe picked up hits and Josh Palacios hit his sixth home run of the season.
After getting called back up, Rob Zastryzny opened the game, before Jackson came in and allowed two runs in six innings. An error in the 10th by Joe allowed an extra runner to score, with the Pirates eventually losing by one.
Mitch Keller has started to look like the All-Star of earlier in the season, and is coming off a start where he struck out 12 in six innings and will look to end the Pirates losing streak against the Cubs.
