Gameday 133: Pirates Look To Clinch Series Against Royals After Oviedo Gem
The Pirates look to keep rolling after Johan Oviedo pitched a two-hit shutout on Monday.
Everything seemed to click on Monday for the Pittsburgh Pirates, backed by a two-hit shutout by Johan Oviedo.
The righty picked up his eighth win of the season, and dropped his ERA down to 4.20. He’s been among the better pitchers in the National League since the All-Star break.
Ke’Bryan Hayes continued the tear he’s been on, reaching base five times, including four hits, one of which a double.
Of the nine starters, only Liover Peguero and Alika Williams didn’t pick up a hit.
Today will at least start as another bullpen game, with Colin Selby getting the nod. He pitched two perfect innings his first time opening with the Pirates.

Looks like the DSL Gold team got a dramatic win in the rubber game to move on to the finals. They scored three in the bottom of the 8th to tie, then won, 10-9, when Tony Blanco (who's been struggling badly for a while) led off the bottom of the 10th with a walkoff, 2-run HR.
Jeebers, Hayes!
