Gameday 135: Pirates look to even series on the road against Cleveland
Luis Ortiz vs Matthew Boyd
In a theme that has become all too familiar lately, the bullpen couldn’t hold the lead, and the Pirates lost their fourth straight game.
The offense was able to string some hits together, especially the middle-of-the-order, but the pitching was hit early and often.
Carmen Mlodzinski allowed four earned runs from back-to-back home runs, giving up the brief lead they held in the fifth inning.
Saturday, they will look to Luis Ortiz to stop a four-game losing streak, and he will face off against lefty Matthew Boyd.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 pm ET.
