Paul Skenes and the bullpen combined to pitch a five-hit shutout, putting the Pirates in a position to sweep the Chicago Cubs.
Jared Triolo hit a three-run home run, his seventh on the season, with Nick Gonzales picking up two hits. Only Andrew McCutchen and Oneil Cruz failed to reach base safely among Pirates’ hitters.

They will be opposed by Shota Imanaga, who will be facing the Pirates for the second time this season. He tossed seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out seven his last time facing them.

Tellez pitching so much may be amusing, but it shows what a clown show the Pirates are. This is not a major league team.
Should be another crackerjack postgame from Shelton. We have to play better. We need to execute better. We have to put this behind us. Imanaga was really sharp. German wasn't locating his pitches. The weather was against us. Blippetty blippetty blippetty blippetty blippetty.
