Gameday 162: Pirates wrap up 2023 season with day game against Marlins
Last game of 2023 season
The Pittsburgh Pirates will wrap up their 2023 season with one more game against the Miami Marlins, looking to avoid a sweep to close out the schedule.
Going through another losing season isn’t ideal, but the two latest losses put a final nail in the coffin of two divisional opponents - as the Cubs and Reds were both eliminated from playoff contention recently.
Quinn Priester made his final start of the season, and it didn’t go well, allowing four runs on 10 hits across 5.2 innings pitched.
Endy Rodriguez (three) and Ke’Bryan Hayes (two) picked up multiple hits - the latter hitting two doubles, giving him 31 on the season.
First pitch of the final game of the season is currently scheduled for 3:05 pm ET.
