Gameday 23: Jared Jones on the mound against the Milwaukee Brewers
Pirates losing streak currently at six
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ current losing streak reached six games after getting swept for the second straight series, this time by the Boston Red Sox.
With a sputtering offense, they haven’t put up much of a fight recently. They’ve scored two runs or less in five games in a row now.
Jared Jones will hit the mound again, coming off of perhaps his best start in the majors. At the very least it was his most efficient. It took him 59 pitches - 50 of which were for strikes - to make it through five innings before getting pulled from the game.
It will be a four-game series against the Brewers, who will send Joe Ross to the mound.
First pitch of game one will be at 6:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
It hasn’t been a strong start for a lot of the hitting prospects in the system so far this season, but there are a few playing well. I went through each affiliate to highlight a player that’s gotten off to a good start.
Today’s Feature
It’s Monday, so we recap the previous week with our ‘10 Observations’ feature.

We have monthly and yearly plans available, with the latter coming out to an average of $4.16/month.
I think we reverse-jinxed Cutch.
Since the Nats series, MAT is 4-for-32 with 16 Ks. Regression is a bitch.
