Gameday 24: Pirates look to build off of first win in a week with Bailey Falter on the mound
Pirates stopped their six game losing streak with a win on Monday
Behind another fantastic start from rookie Jared Jones, the Pittsburgh Pirates snapped their six-game losing streak and defeated their divisional rival, the Milwaukee Brewers.
Jones pitched six innings of one-run baseball, striking out seven in picking up his second career win.
Andrew McCutchen batted in the lead-off spot, hit a home run to kick off the bottom of the first, and picked up two more hits that night. Amid a rough slump, Oneil Cruz showed signs of snapping out of it, picking up three hits - one of which was a double - while driving in two.
David Bednar worked the ninth to pick up his third save of the season.
Back in the win column, the Pirates will look to pull further away from .500 (12-11) with another win. They haven’t won on consecutive days since they won three in a row from April 6-8.
Bailey Falter will be on the mound for the Pirates, with a starter yet to be determined for the Brewers.

Joe isn't my idea of a long-term 1B, but can we just stop the Tellez nonsense now and go with somebody who's helping?
Another gem by Falter. Wow! Who saw that coming?
BTW, Lauer with 5 no-hit innings and 8 SO’s tonight, too. He’s coming before long.
