Gameday 28: Pirates look to rebound from loss with Martin Perez on the mound
After losing in walk-off fashion, the Pirates look to rebound with another game against the Giants.
Quinn Priester pitched the best game of his major league career, throwing six shutout innings while striking out another six batters.
The Pirates couldn’t muster any offense and eventually lost 3-0 on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.
With runners on second and third with nobody out in the ninth inning, the Pirates failed to capitalize before Patrick Bailey hit his third home run of the season to win it in the home half of the inning.
The loss forces the Pirates under .500 at 13-14 and extends their current losing streak to three.
Martin Perez will be on the mound for the Pirates and face off against Jordan Hicks, who was a reliever for the Cardinals before moving into the rotation after signing with the Giants.
First pitch is expected around 9:05 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
We ran another mailbag article on Friday, with questions on some of the FCL players and who the Pirates might take in the first round of the 2024 draft.
Today’s Feature
Nick Gonzales has gotten off to one of the best starts in the International League. While his video game numbers aren’t likely to last the entire season, just how much of it is sustainable? I take a look at that today.

We have monthly and yearly plans available, with the latter coming out to an average of $4.16/month.
Will the Tellez farce ever end? Is there any level of performance awful enough to be unacceptable to this FO?
Best win of the year!! Raise it!
