Gameday 4: Pirates look for sweep against Marlins
Pirates to complete four game sweep of Miami Marlins during Opening Day weekend.
It’s been an electric weekend for the Pirates so far, as they’ve won their first three games of the season.
After an Opening Day come-from-behind win, they’ve cruised to the last two victories.
They’ve received some fantastic play from the bullpen, but the standout performance so far has been the debut of Jared Jones, who struck out 10 batters in 5.2 innings pitched, getting his first major league win.
The Pirates supported him with 16 hits and nine runs scored.
The Pirates are going for the four-game sweep on Easter Sunday. They will send Bailey Falter to the mound, which could also be an opportunity to see Luis Ortiz in his ‘bulk role’ out of the bullpen.
They will be opposed by yet another left-handed pitcher, the 26-year-old Trevor Rogers.
First pitch is expected at 1:40 pm ET.
