Gameday 43: Pirates go for series win against Brewers with Priester on mound
Pirates look to take game two of three game set
It didn’t come easy, but the Pirates were able to hold off a late charge by the Milwaukee Brewers, taking game one of their three-game set 8-6.
Mitch Keller pitched six shutout innings, allowing eight hits while striking out seven to pick up his fourth win of the season.
Josh Fleming got beat up, allowing five earned runs in an inning plus on the mound, but Hunter Stratton and David Bednar were able to lock things down for the final two innings.
The offense continues to show signs of life, as Jack Suwinski, Yasmani Grandal, and Bryan Reynolds hit home runs for the Pirates. Reynolds picked up five hits on the day, which included a home run and two doubles.
On Tuesday, they will send Quinn Priester to the mound, who couldn’t build off his career-best outing two starts ago. He’s faced Milwaukee once in his career, allowing three earned runs in four innings pitched.
They will face Joe Ross, who pitched against the Pirates once this year. The first pitch is expected around 7:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
It was a double feature day on Monday. Our usual ‘10 Observations’ feature went live in the morning, and with me being in Bradenton for the week, there was a heavy Florida theme.
The second feature was a look at the Altoona rotation picture, which just got even more crowded with Thomas Harrington joining after starting the year on the injured list.
Today’s Feature
Tuesday, WTM takes a look at the previous look in Bradenton, which a heavy look at the streak the Marauders have been on and some FCL action.

Really good to see from Nick.
Solomon Maguire is pretty damn hot. Just hit a three-run bomb on a decent pitch, down and in.
