Saw only 1 inning of Ashcraft. Why doesn't he use a slide step with runners on? What are they teaching in the minors!

Ah, the daily double dipper. Couldn't do without that.

Add that to the shutout and 0-for-7 wRISP and you have the Cherington Trifecta.

I love using a reliever for 3 innings.

That was hardly fair. Where do these arms come from? Is Martinez even their closer?

Bases loaded, nobody out means nothing to this team. Pathetic.

OK. Bases loaded, no one out. DRIVE THE BALL SOMEWHERE!

The heart of the order with the bases loaded and no outs: Strikeout. Pop out. Groundout. There is truly nothing left to say.

Successful first inning pitched for Ashcraft. Many happy returns.

Nothing like the Pirates to cure a five-game losing streak.

The Cheringtons are still the Cheringtons. Imagine that.

I foolishly got my hopes up a bit after the offense showed some signs of life during he Brewers series.

They've shown time and again, they'll always circle back to their Cherington norm of utter helplessness.

I honestly don’t know how these parents can stand watching their kids in the big leagues. I’m fisting beta blockers when my kid’s pitching in little league.

You shouldn't put beta blockers up there. You're supposed to swallow them.

Hard to blame Heaney for that one. That was at Naylor's chin level. Surprised he could put that kind of swing on it.

Arizona hits for power and rarely strike out, seems easy enough!

Suarez has as many HRs as our 3 thru 9 hitter combined. Reynolds, Horwitz, Bart, Canario, Frazier, Hayes, IKF. And Reynolds has 6.

Might as well let Ashcraft see if he can pitch the last 3 innings now. Sigh.

What a huge miss on Cruz there. Is that three games in a row where Umps whiffed on an obvious call?

Yup- it’s been really bad lately. In fairness Hit man Pham walked on a pitch right down the middle the other day as well. But obvious misses by blue seems like such a much bigger deal with a team that can’t hit

Another mediocre pitcher shutting the Bucs down. I don’t even bother looking at the opponent pitcher ERAs anymore when they start against the Pirates. Anyone can string zeroes against these guys.
