Gameday 67: Pirates look to clinch series on the road against the Cardinals
Bailey Falter on the mound facing Sonny Gray
Both starting pitchers were fantastic last night, not allowing a run in 13.1 combined innings. Paul Skenes struck out eight over 6.1 innings, pitching into the seventh inning for the first time.
Miles Mikolas tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and one walk.
It turned into a bullpen game, and the Pirates got on the board first and eventually won 2-1. That makes it wins in five of their last seven games.
Wednesday’s game gives the Pirates the opportunity to clinch the series. Bailey Falter will pitch, and the first pitch is expected at 7:45 p.m. ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
The Bradenton Marauders bounced back last week and took four of six against the Clearwater Threshers, and the FCL Pirates continued their offensive bar. These were recapped in the latest ‘This Week in Bradenton’ feature.

I wonder what this rotation:
Skenes RHP
Sandoval LHP
Jones RHP
Falter LHP
Keller RHP
could do with this lineup:
Cutch DH RH
Joe 1B RH
Mike Trout CF RH
Oneil Cruz SS LH
Taylor Ward RF RH
Bryan Reynolds LF SH
Nick Gonzales 2B RH
Hayes 3B RH
Davis/Bart C RH
Termarr and a Bubba/Endy I think could get you those guys if the Angels are finally ready to rebuild plus it'd net you $80/$90M on Trout's deal. One or two of Jack, Taylor and Olivares could be dealt. Preister could be moved to the pen or dealt.
Payroll doesn't even go up _terribly_ Bob. Trout should be back in 2-3 weeks and was having a good season prior to the knee. What's a Mike Trout in the lineup do for a Bryan Reynolds? An Oneil Cruz?
Hoping that hayes hitting two balls hard, hank finally running into one, and nicolas taking care of business are three positive predictors for the future. Would gladly trade a loss, if so
