The Pittsburgh Pirates were held to just four hits—two by Bryan Reynolds—as they eventually lost to the Reds 2-1.
Bailey Falter pitched well again but was done in by a two-run home run from Santiago Espinal. Nick Lodol tossed seven innings of one-run ball, picking up his eighth win.
Wednesday, Mitch Keller will be on the mound, facing off against Hunter Greene. The winner leapfrogs the other in the standings and positions themselves into the third spot in the NL Central.
