Gameday 79: Pirates look to avoid a sweep against the Rangers

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ offense went 0-8 with runners in scoring position, only managed two runs, and are now one game away from getting swept by the Texas Rangers.

Mitch Keller allowed three runs, two earned, over 5.2 innings pitched, but is now 1-10 on the season. Oneil Cruz drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Henry Davis recorded an RBI groundout to plate the other run.

Bailey Falter hits the mound for the Pirates as they try to avoid the sweep. Jack Leiter, the second overall pick back in 2021 behind Davis, will start for the Rangers.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 pm ET.
