Gameday 89: Luis Ortiz pitches Sunday day game against the Mets
Pirates looking to jump up to guarantee at least a series split with a win.
The Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets play on Sunday with a chance to jump out to a 2-1 lead in their four-game series.
Bailey Falter left the game int he third inning due to an arm injury, and the Mets jumped on Dennis Santana, who entered the contest with the bases loaded and nobody out.
He nearly got out of the jam, striking out the first two batters he faced, but Luis Torrens hit a bases-clearing double to put the Mets out in front 3-0.
Oneil Cruz hit his 13th home run of the season, which accounted for the only scoring on the day for the Pirates.
Luis Ortiz is scheduled to make his second start of the season and will face left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea.
The first pitch is expected around 1:35 pm ET.
