Gameday 94: Pirates start weekend series on road against the White Sox
Pirates will face lefty Garrett Crochet
After taking two of three against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Pirates begin a weekend series with the Chicago White Sox before heading into the All-Star break.
Backed by Paul Skenes’ seven no-hit innings, the Pirates won on Thursday 1-0, clinching their series against the Brewers. He was named the starter of the All-Star game today.
The Pirates enter this weekend with a 45-48 record, which is good for third place in the NL Central. They are also 2.5 games out of a Wildcard Spot.
This is the perfect matchup to go into the All-Star break, as no team has fewer wins than the Chicago White Sox.
It will be an interesting pitching matchup, as Garrett Crochet has emerged as one of the better left-handed starting pitchers, and the Pirates have the 10th-worst OPS against lefties this year.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 pm ET.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it appears the White Sox suck.
