Overview

Larsen was a late-round draft selection of the Rangers in 2021. There’s no information yet about his pitches. In fact, he’s pitched very little due to injuries. The Pirates acquired him in the minor league phase of the 2025 Rule 5 draft.

2021-23

Larsen apparently was placed on the injured list after being drafted and didn’t play at all in 2021 or 2022. He got into just one game in the Arizona Complex League at the beginning of the 2023 season and didn’t pitch again that year.

2024-25

The Rangers sent Larsen to low A in April of 2024 and he pitched in stints of three innings or less through mid-June. He got raked for a 10.13 ERA, getting hit hard and walking 19 in 20.1 IP. The Rangers sent him to the ACL and he had a 4.20 ERA there in 15 innings, although he did strike out 20. He went back to low A and pitched much better, with an ERA of 1.44, although he walked 17 in 25 innings. He pitched mostly as a starter at both levels.

In 2025, Larsen started the season on the injured list. He went to the ACL on rehab in June, then went to low A in mid-July. In a dozen games, all in relief, he had a 3.48 ERA, 5.2 BB/9 and 13.2 K/9.
