Live from Bradenton: Braylon Bishop's big night, Peyton Stumbo, David Matoma
Bishop has four hits, Stumbo goes 4.2 innings, Matoma finishes game
The offense exploded on Wednesday, registering 17 hits and 12 runs with the Bradenton Marauders evening their six-game series with the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
They also stole a season-high seven bases, three coming from Braylon Bishop, who was easily the star of the night. He registered four hits, including a double and a home run, and then added a walk and three stolen bases.
Axiel Plaz hit his third home run of the season, Konnor Griffin collected three hits and a stolen base, and Eddy Rodriguez extended his hitting streak with a RBI double, the second hardest hit of the night for the Marauders.
Peyton Stumbo was solid through 4.2 innings, although he had an issue getting Bryce Rainer out (who has tormented the Marauders’ pitching staff this season). David Matoma, Isaias Uribe, and Jonawel Valdez all pitched to close out the game.
