The Pittsburgh Pirates dropped the final of three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, losing the series.
Mitch Keller had another rough outing, and his ERA now sits over five. He allowed five earned runs on seven hits and four walks over four innings pitched.
Although the offense mounted a comeback, the bullpen allowed three more runs, which was enough for the Dodgers to come out in front.
Rafael Flores, making his first start of the season, went 2-3 with a double and his first major league home run. The hero of Wednesday night, Tyler Callihan, pinch-hit for Esmerlyn Valdez, drawing a walk and hitting a triple.
Brandon Lowe hit his 16th home run of the season, and Spencer Horwitz went 2-5 with an RBI.
With a 35-34 record, the Pirates now open up a three-game weekend series against the Miami Marlins. Braxton Ashcraft, Bubba Chandler, and Paul Skenes are the scheduled starters for the series.
