MLB Playoffs: Braves comeback, Diamonds take 2-0 lead
The ALDS games shift locations heading into game three
With the AL teams off on Monday, it was the NL chance to shine. Atlanta overcame a 4-0 deficit by scoring five runs from the sixth inning on.
Zack Wheeler was fantastic through the first five innings for the Phillies, and overall struck out 10 in 6.1 innings. Starting for the Braves, Max Fried struggled to get things going, allowing six hits and three walks in four innings pitched.
The bullpen allowed one unearned run the rest of the way out.
For the second straight game, the Diamondbacks jumped out on the Dodgers starting pitcher in the first inning, scoring three on rookie Bobby Miller, and rode that to a 4-2 victory and 2-0 series lead.
Zac Gallen allowed two earned runs across 5.1 innings to get the win.
Minnesota Twins vs Houston Astros, 4:07 pm ET
Series tied 1-1
MIN - Sonny Gray (1-0, 0.00 ERA)
HOU - Cristian Javier
Behind Carlos Correa and Pablo Lopez, the Twins tied up their best of five series against the Astros at one game a piece heading back to Minnesota.
Sonny Gray will be on the mound, who pitched five shutout innings against the Blue Jays in the Wild card series.
Texas Rangers vs Baltimore Orioles, 8:03 pm ET
Texas leads 2-0
TEX - Nathan Eovaldi (1-0, 1.35 ERA)
BAL - Dean Kremer
The AL East Champion Baltimore Orioles face elimination tonight, and will face Nathan Eovaldi for the Rangers.
For the Rangers, they have yet to lose a game in the playoffs, even going back to the Wild card round.
The Texas offense appears to be the Pirates' offense in reverse.
Here's a weird stat...
Prior to this season there was 2 leadoff hitters who drove in 100 rbi (Blackmon & Erstad)
This year MLB had 3 - Acuna, Semien & Betts. Schwarber was close but had some of his 100+ batting lower in the lineup.
