A week ago both the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Bradenton Marauders played their last game, ending the seasons for half of the Pirates full season affiliates.
Now one more will play in their last game, as the Altoona Curve wrap up their season on Sunday, with a 6:05 pm ET expected start time.
With a 66-68 record, they don’t have any shot of a playoff spot or can’t get back to .500 on the season, their loss Saturday night secured that.
One thing to watch in the coming days is if any player will get a look at Triple-A, where Indianapolis have another weeks worth of games left.
The Curve have quite a few notable pitchers already on the Development List, signifying their season is probably over - Braxton Ashcraft, Bubba Chandler, Anthony Solometo, Sean Sullivan and Paul Skenes.
Carter Bins has missed quite a bit of time this year, and has experience in Triple-A, so he could be an option. Matt Fraizer, Lolo Sanchez, and Connor Scott are all outfielders that have spent the last two years in Altoona, so they could get a look just to see what they look like at another level.
Jase Bowen and Tsung-Che Cheng are probably the two biggest hitting prospects on the roster, with the former just now recently joining the roster.
Either way, with Altoona wrapping things up today, we are that much closer to the off-season.
