Morning Rundown: NL Central teams interested in Garrett Crochet, Rule 5 talk, Bryan Reynolds feature
Teams interested in Garrett Crochet grows, more Rule 5 talk and a recap of yesterday's feature on Bryan Reynolds.
Two NL Central teams are reportedly interested in trading for Chicago White Sox left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet.
According to Jon Morosi, the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs are interested in acquiring the lefty from the White Sox.
Crochet, 25, went 6-12 last year with a 3.58 ERA, striking out 209 batters in 146 innings pitched. He also posted a 4.7 fWAR and had an xFIP of 2.38.
With the Rule 5 set for next week, MLB.com looked at some an intriguing player from each team that is available.
Sammy Siani was the pick for the Pirates after breaking through Greensboro after a couple of years there, making it to Altoona and then playing well in the Arizona Fall League.
They note that performance in the AFL and then his defense that could allow him to play all three outfield positions as a bench outfielder.
