Morning Rundown: Pirates lose in extra innings, Oneil Cruz leaves with an injury
Pirates drop game two, can still win series on Sunday
The Pittsburgh Pirates were able to rally to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth, but still ended up losing 3-2 in extra innings.
After falling behind 2-0, Joey Bart drove in Oneil Cruz to get on the board before Matt Gorski tied it later.
Andrew Heaney allowed two runs on four hits and three walks, striking out two over six innings pitched. David Bednar struck out two in the eighth inning.

The Pirates had a runner on third in the bottom half of the frame after a Jared Triolo bunt, but Liover Peguero was called out on strikes (pitch was low), and Tommy Pham grounded out to second to end the game.
They had other opportunities to win the game, but couldn’t capitalize.
The rubber match will occur on Sunday, with Carmen Mlodzinski expected to face Chris Sale.
Oneil Cruz left Saturday’s game with what is being called lower-back tightness and is considered day-to-day.
