Playoff Gameday: Dodgers look to take 2-0 lead, ALCS begins on Monday
Both Championship series play on Monday
The Los Angeles Dodgers jumped out to a 1-0 series lead on Sunday, defeating the New York Mets 9-0 behind seven shutout innings from Jack Flaherty.
They now have an opportunity to jump out to a 2-0 lead before heading to New York. Max Muncy opened the scoring on Sunday, with Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman driving in runs.
New York managed just three hits while getting shutout.
The Guardians and Yankees play in game one of the ALCS tonight, with Alex Cobb and Carlos Rodon kicking things off.
The two teams played each other six times this year, with the Yankees taking four.

I look at the Dodgers doing a bullpen game in the *second game of the NLCS*. Then I look at the Pirates stable of starting pitchers in the majors and on the verge. I can’t help but think at the risk of being declared insane that the Pirates are not that far away. A competent GM would have the Pirates in the playoffs next year.
