Playoff Gameday: Yankees look to take 2-0 lead with Gerrit Cole on the mound
Tanner Bibee vs Gerrit Cole
Carlos Rodon generated 25 whiffs in six innings of one-run baseball, helping lead the Yankees to a game-one victory over the Guardians in the ALCS.
The offense didn’t need much, but home runs from Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton helped fuel the offense to five runs total. Soto picked up a pair of hits on the day and is hitting .353 in the postseason.
Cleveland’s offense could never get going, hitting 1-4 with RISP and leaving five on base. Alex Cobb struggled as the starter, allowing five hits and three earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched.
Game two has a scheduled start time of 7:38 pm ET.

My personal interest in the playoffs mostly died off with the Tigers getting knocked out. I just don't think Cleveland has the juice left. Their arms in the bullpen have to be getting exhausted at this point. What seems the inevitable Dodgers vs Yankees series is unexciting, while also likely leading to one of the most watched World Series in a long time.
Watching this game, just dreaming of the pirates rolling out skenes, Chandler, Jones and Keller next year in the playoffs! Need some bats this off-season!
