Bubba Chandler has emerged as one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball. He’s in the top 10 in all of baseball, according to Baseball America, and is a consensus top 20-25 virtually no matter where you look.

After not making the major league team out of camp, he was reassigned to Triple-A Indianapolis to begin the year, where he has made two starts.

He struggled with his control in the first game, walking three in 2.2 innings. While he issued two more free passes, Chandler flashed more of what makes him such an exciting prospect to follow.

Chandler struck out eight batters in four innings, allowing just one hit. Of the 61 pitches he threw, 46 went for strikes. When he’s in the zone that much (75% strike rate), it will be nearly impossible to get anything off him.

Chandler has 12 strikeouts and five walks through two starts now, allowing just one hit across 6.1 innings.
