When the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Garret Forrester in the third round out of Oregon State, they got a player with an advanced hit tool and some power potential.
Forrester has put up some decent exit velocity numbers in Bradenton, but his approach at the plate has shined through.
It’s not new for him, as he drew more walks (18.6%) than strikeouts (16.5%) during his time at Oregon State.
One thing that has stood out with Forrester is his ability to work deep in the count, be patient, and look for his pitch—even if that means working from behind.
