Spring Training Gameday 28: Pirates face the Red Sox with three games left
After game on Friday was canceled, the Pirates have just three games left in Spring schedule.
The scheduled game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles was canceled due to weather.
That leaves just three games on the Pirates' Spring schedule, including a match against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.
Jared Jones was scheduled to face Corbin Burnes and the Orioles on Friday before the game was canceled.
Chase Anderson was expected to start for the Pirates today, but was released this morning. No word on who will be playing in his place.
Brayan Bello will get the start for the Red Sox, with the game expected to start at 1:05 pm ET.

Sean Sullivan will never be a top prospect, especially in a system as loaded with pitching as the Pirates, but there are some things to like about what he brings to the mound.
I look back at his best start from last year and combine it with some Spring numbers we got from him to find the best way to utilize his skill set.
BA has a piece up about guys impressing in minor league camp. There's a segment on the Pirates that raves about the usual pitchers, especially Bubba. But the best part is on Matoma. Throwing 95-96 with good movement and three good secondary pitches that he can throw for strikes. There's a link to a lengthy video clip that indeed shows him throwing a bunch of secondary pitches for strikes.
Looks to me like, if we say Jones goes to Indy, we’re effectively saying merit is irrelevant.
