Spring training Gameday: Pirates play night game in Tampa against the Yankees
Bailey Falter vs Max Fried
The Pirates are now 6-3 after losing to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday by the score of 10-4. They got three home runs from the offense—Henry Davis, Darick Hall, and Endy Rodriguez—and 2.2 solid innings from Jared Jones at the start.
Chase Shugart allowed five earned runs in a third of an inning, and Tim Mayza surrendered another three. Jones loaded the bases on two walks and a hit in the top of the first, but bore down and allowed just one of them to score.
They will now head onto the road for a rare spring training night game against the Yankees, who will have Max Fried on the mound for the first time.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm ET.

Ugly inning. But hey, we got statcast data on Chandler AND Mike Walsh, so it's really like a win, right?
