For those who are afraid BC will throw way too much money to a certain strong-armed LH RP with a sorted past again, don’t fret he’s the Red Sox problem now.
I was hoping Boston would want Mitch Keller. Boston would get a #3 SP. The cost of pitchers on the FA market is crazy. Then the Bucs have some extra money for an outfielder. Thoughts
I know that Keller 29, is up to $15 mil this year, but he's the only Veteran left to help guide and be a big brother to Skenes 23, Jones 24, Ortiz 26, Chandler 22, Harrington 24, etc. Falter 28 is older but lacks experience, and who knows if guys like Ashcraft 25 or Burrows 25 or even Barco 24 may see time with the Pirates in 2025.
Ortiz is young and is the Utility Pitcher - able to be a SP capable of 150 innings, or a middle or late inning reliever who will be very cheap for a few years. A 1.0 fWAR in 2024, 1.121 MLB Service, with 2 Options remaining.
Kelly's CH didn't impress me live. I thought it was way too straight and had very little fade. And from what I remember not a ton of separation.
Even a bad CH will fool and is a devastating pitch to Low A hitters.I hope I'm wrong but I don't see it missing as many bats as he moves up.
I would personally have him repeat Low A this season too. Or at least start off back in Bradenton.
Antwone told me he doesn't like your changeup either.

I’m not trying to be a professional baseball player though.

At a raise to $10.75 mil? Also, any possibility the Pirates and Boston are talking about LH hitting 1B Tristan Cassas for Luis Ortiz? Makes sense.

I like that idea, too.
Just know it won’t happen.

That’s why I’m not a real GM. Lol
Too much sense for our senseless GM?
I am Groot.
