Off topic, do you know if Peguero can get an extra option? For some reason I think I read that but I'm not sure.

I would love too Ethan do a comparison with other small market teams in or moving into the competitive stage.

Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Kansas City, Baltimore come to mind.

I applaud the hard work you put into this project Ethan. You do outstanding work.

On the other hand, if I were chosen to summarize the Pirates payroll, I would likely reduce the article to something like this, “The Pirates 2024 payroll was reminiscent of life boats on The Titanic…not enough, not enough by half.”

OT, but Gold Glove finalists are out. Only Pirate is Triolo as UT guy. Didn't know they did that.

Tri is very deserving with his work at 3B, 2B, SS, 1B, and I think RF. The last 2 years with the absences of Ke'Bryan Hayes, the efficiency never went down due to the strong D at 3B by Triolo.

I know it's on the newer end. Brenden Donovan was the first one to win it in the NL.

Shows how much attention I pay. I totally soured on the GG when Hayes got screwed for a couple years, not that I ever had much faith in it.

Nice of BC to shave $643k off BN's bottom line....that's how you guarantee job security in the Pirates organization!

I’d argue he actually did a pretty lousy job in this regard. He spent a lot of money on quasi-replacement level production. Could’ve had a team about ten million cheaper or so that won the same amount of games.
