In his first year fully focusing on pitching, Bubba Chandler topped 100 innings pitched with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, joining a still growing list in the Pirates system.
41.1 combined between FCL and Bradenton. So he's past doubled it. If they shut him down (he's got like 3 starts left), as long as I get to see him next week when I'm down there lol
They will also factor in the innings he pitched in Extended Spring Training last year. He was doing light pitching for two months before anything hit the stats sheet.
Well, they had exactly 17 pitchers reach 100 innings in 2017, 2018 and 2019, so I'd say no. Seems like Huntington had a magic number, though I stopped checking after three years. I think 120+ is that magic mark where it starts to feel like a lot of innings for a Pirates pitcher. I think it was a bit tougher to do earlier in his time as the GM because they had that 75-pitch limit for everyone
How many innings did Chandler threw last year? I wouldn’t be surprised if he is close to doubling it.

Without asking for a research project, does this feel like significantly more innings for more pitchers than typical during the Huntington Era?
100 *feels* big to me.

Geez, would not have guessed. Glad I asked, thanks John!
