I love the Wyatt Sanford pick. His father reached the majors and developed some power in the minors. I wouldn't be surprised if his profile upticks over the next few years.
Great stuff by the experts on here. I saw the non-rostered invitees for spring training (Carson Fulmer, Isaac Mattson, Tanner Rainey, Yohan Ramírez, Yerry Rodríguez, Burch Smith, Hunter Stratton and Eddy Yean; infielders Darick Hall, Malcolm Nuñez and Nick Solak; outfielder Bryce Johnson and catcher Abrahan Gutierrez), have they announced what minor league players will be invited?
They never get the list completed until the start of camp. There are more that they haven’t gotten around to listing yet, like Borucki and DJ Stewart. They’re gonna need more catchers. They haven’t said anything about prospects yet, although Griffin posted somewhere that he’d be there.
Thanks. I will be getting to Bradenton on the 10th, before spring training officially begins. Is Pirate City open enough where I could check things out early, or do they block it off for a fan like myself?
Let the dreaming begin. I root for these kids to make it to the majors to propel the pirates to win the world series but to me these players are more suspect then prospect. Until they make the majors they are dreamers just like us.
Sanford is probably the one I'm not confident in saying when I believe he'll arrive in Bradenton, which is by no means a knock on him. Being 1-9, I'd expect Griffin to begin in Low-A, if not shortly after the season begins. With Sanford it gets a little more complicated, as they're giving Griffin the opportunity to develop as a SS. They won't just give up on Yordany, and he can't slide to 3B regularly cause of Severino. Maybe Delgado moves up, but he (among others) will likely see primary time at 2B.
Depending where a couple of the recent collegiate draft picks begin the year, I think there's a couple very interesting international kids that could get pushed to OF duty, such as CF, due to the influx of MIF prospects.
I think we had literally just finished discussing Alfonzo's quality of contact, and maybe even just after BA had a write-up on him, that he struck out in (possibly embellishing) about 9 of his next 10 ABs. Was wild, but then he got back on track.

I'd settle for Kebryan Hayes production (no not last year). I think that's a 6-yr starter if he gets there.
I can envision him as a solid lead off hitter if his plate discipline and on base skills are good. Hope I'm not just dreaming.
Love that Sanford call!
I saw him a few times in the “bridge league.” Looked like he belonged at short, the way Hayes looked like he belonged at third right after he signed.

It's open to the public. Stuff usually gets going around 10am.
Awesome. Thanks. I enjoy the games, but never knew how much more I would enjoy the practices.
Once the Pirates relocate to LECOM, the minor leaguers will be out there.

This year Solo figures it out and rockets to #2 on our prospect board
Also, somebody will get injured on the MLB roster and Peguero will get consistent atbats
I hate to say it, but I think Solo is cooked.
I'm all in on Peggy getting consistent atbats
question is if Peguero is the best option for the hole in right field in that IKF can play right field if Liover is bangers out of march?
All fantastic picks gents! I'm excited to follow Sanford and Griffin this season, any chance they make it to Bradenton by seasons end?

I honestly wish they'd just put Griffin in Center, with Sanford being a glove that can stick at short. Either way can't wait, thanks for the input

Yeah, he had that one horrendous stretch at Bradenton, very out of character. Maybe the EV stuff went to his head for a bit.
