Enmanuel Terrero is part of that foursome of OF's that should be in GBO for the 2024 season. Terrero will play as a 21 year old in RF/LF, Rodolfo Nolasco will play as a 22 year old in RF/LF, and Shalin Polanco, 20 and Lonnie White, Jr, 21 are primary CF's that can also play the corners.

LWJR is a RH hitter rated as the best of the group by Fangraphs who had him as our No. 28 Prospect, even though he missed a lot of time due to minor injuries prior to 2023. His slash at A in '23 was 259/395/488/883 OPS with impressive BB/K numbers of 32/56 (16%/28%) to go along with that near .500 Slugging percentage. His Tool Grades for the future are Hit 40, Raw Power 55, Game Power 50, Run 70, Fielding 60, Throw 50. Enmanuel Terrero did not make the Fangraphs Top 43 of the Pirates, but was noted as one of the "Very Young Prospects to Monitor".

They just signed Ali Sanchez to a major league contract as well. I guess backup catcher is filled.

Can you sign someone to a Major League deal on accident? We should research that.

Maybe the Stallings of 4-5 years ago. Not the Stallings of today.

second time around

assuming its a major league deal so he does not get snatched from the waiver wire again

I don't get the major league contract in this case...hope we're not about to get news that Endy or Delay is injured.

Exactly, out of options and battling for a backup spot, doesn’t make sense to start with a MLB contract, those are too valuable to waste on moves like this.

Or MiLB depth.. I am assuming he has plenty of options left.

I think he's out of options. I don't hate the signing because he's an excellent defensive catcher. I think they're going to use Delay in the minors to prep the young pitchers with a catcher with mlb experience. Sure seems that Davis better keep his outfielders glove handy.

And just did my homework - looks like no options. So Delay to AAA? I'll state the obvious - either a trade in the works or they are not serious about Hank as a catcher(this would be my guess).

Pirates claimed RHP Roddery Munoz off waivers from the Gnats. His MiL numbers are unimpressive, to put it mildly, but he probably gets a lot of spin or something.

Or maybe the interns left the waiver claim remote out where BC could find it.

The Nats had claimed him from the Braves in July after the Braves had protected him in last year's Rule 5 Draft, so other teams have been intrigued by his potential. He's had good K rates but his BB rates are ugly.

Apparently he throws hard, doesn't really know where it's going. Probably the next man to get dfa'd if needed, Ben likes flexibility.

My initial thought is he will be dropped and claimed 20 times over the winter. There always seems to be 2 or 3 who have no idea where they will land until right before spring training. Final team roulette.

Is called getting Dragmire ddd

Agreed. Put it this way: the Nats pitching was weak in 2023, so if you can’t keep a place on the Nats’ roster that’s not much of an endorsement. It will be surprising if this guy ever does anything for the PIrates.
