Gameday 11: Pirates host Tigers with Mitch Keller on the mound
Mitch Keller looks to get back on track with start against the Tigers.
After winning their series against the Baltimore Orioles, the Pittsburgh Pirates start a quick two-game set against the Detroit Tigers at home before having the next six on the road.
The Pirates got solid outings from Bailey Falter and Marco Gonzales over the weekend, as they combined to allow just two earned runs in 12 innings pitched.
They needed to win both games in walk-off fashion, but regardless, they now sit in first place in the division with an 8-2 record.
Mitch Keller hasn’t had the best of starts to his season but has pitched well against the Tigers in his career. In four career starts, Keller has a 3.86 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched.
First pitch is expected at 6:40 pm ET.

Yesterday’s Feature
With the rest of the minor league affiliates starting their season over the weekend, I have been looking at some players to watch at each level.
Sunday was a look at High-A Greensboro. While Termarr Johnson and Jack Brannigan are the obvious names, I looked a little deeper at the roster (but not too deep) with some choices.
Today’s Feature
It’s Monday, so it’s time for another 10 Observations feature. NolaJeffy and give our thoughts on the first full weekend of the minor league schedule.
That's called a winning streak
I know two Detroit Tigers fans here in Nola, and I demand the Pirates give me bragging rights
