Actually three more years. What's head-scratching is that he was a 0 bWAR player when we acquired him--aren't those players supposed to be freely available? Seemed like a move just to make a move after we lost out on impact players like Chisholm.
Reynolds is what he is as an outfielder but tip ins are usually associated with basketball. Not as bad as the ball off Jose Canseco’s head 30+ years ago but man-o-man that can’t happen.
Could we see a skenes, Keller, Jones, falter, Chandler rotation to start next year? Bart, Reynolds, and cruz is a pretty good middle of the order. I think they need to add a CF and good hitting 1B or 3B in the off-season and if they can add a couple backend bullpen arms that would be nice. This team is close. It’s been an unfortunate week but it could have easily went the other way. Let’s hope they take this off-season serious and add where they need to add.
Also can they just bring up Yorke and cook now? Throw Yorke in at 2B and Cook in CF. IKF the primary 3B. Hayes tried out as utility man.
Yorke and Cook could and should easily replace Triolo and Bae immediately.
I haven't looked at who the main culprits are for not scoring more runs during the past two weeks, but Bucs are 3-7 in last 10, yet had 71 hits in those 7 losses. In 5 of those losses, Bucs have outhit the opponent.
Not saying the offense is fixed by any means, but beyond the pen collapsing, too little situational hitting, plus some shitty luck.
Other than Reynolds, Cruz, Bart, they have a lot of options but nothing proven. What happens to Hayes will be telling. Do they trade him and put Kiner Falefa at 3rd with Gonzalez at 2nd? Do Yorke and Cook get a look this yr? What happens with Endy and Davis? De La Cruz has been a disappointment but likely a small sample size.
75 pitches, and German had 3 whole whiffs
Btw, I know Grandal catches Skenes typically but hasn’t Keller thrown to Bart mostly? Could that be part of the issue tonight?
Any time Grandal is on a baseball diamond, it’s an issue.
Golden sombrero tonight. BDLC now 4-for-30 as a Pirate, with no walks, no XBHs and a 40% K rate. The Cherington clown show is in full swing.
And he cost us my favorite international signing in years.
The worst part is, he has I think two more yoc. No matter how bad he is, they’ll keep playing him to justify the trade.

Just gets worse and worse. Cherington is inventing whole new levels of incompetence.
Hey now. One walk
Farthest ball I’ve seen Key hit in months

If that was Cruz misplaying that into a HR this comment section would’ve exploded.
German can't be throwing this many pitches to batters or the AB will end badly.
Has he always thrown this slow?
Yeah he's a command pitcher not a thrower.
Man I can't even laugh anymore

Might want to hope to kick Keller to 3 or 4. They need a 1B, CF, 3B and RF imo.
Has a 0 ever pitched against a 0 in MLB history?
Always a chance you see something you've never seen before at a baseball game!
Other than Paul Skenes and the general starting pitching depth, Joey Bart is the best thing about this season
After tonight, Bart might lead all MLB catchers in wRC+. Coming into tonight he was two points behind Willson Contreras.
Boom goes Bart! Just 3down now. 😁😁
Time to build the Bart statue
Carved in stone as cleanup in 2025
Nice HR call Steven!
Calling "way out there" and having it just clear the wall is pretty close to a Neverett.
I love Brault in the studio. Finding him a bit chatty as play-by-play.
He called "way up there" due to the height I would guess. Loved the call.
He's doing a very good job for his first game.
He followed with a call of fly to center field that was caught by Cruz on the infield dirt. Might need to get used to the perspective.
Hopefully tonight just a blip from Keller, maybe because of rain-shortened start. Worst start since last Sept.
What is the purpose of Yasmani Grandal?
To make you angry.
Me specifically or `average Pirates fan`?
Goodnight to whomever is out there. Keller is terrible tonight and I can’t take it following that wretched home stand.
Watching Cruz in the dugout and he's Leeloo from Fifth Element out there haha
