Gameday 120: Pirates look to avoid a third straight sweep
Pirates wrap up road trip still looking for win
The Pittsburgh Pirates outhit the San Diego Padres on Tuesday but were held off the scoreboard, getting shutout 3-0. Luis Ortiz walked around some early trouble created by issues throwing strikes and defensive play but pitched five solid innings in total.
In the end, Michael King threw six innings and struck out 10 batters, and the bullpen shut the door behind him to seal the shutout.
Mitch Keller will be on the mound for the Pirates, trying to keep the losing streak from reaching double digits. He allowed seven earned runs in four innings pitched his last time on the mound.
They will face Martin Perez, who began the year with the Pirates but was traded to the Padres at the deadline.
The first pitch is scheduled for 4:10 pm ET.

MLBPA is suing Pirates and Sheetz for unauthorized use of player images in ads. Nuttin may be on the hook for some damages. Love to be on the jury. Have to use all the zeroes.
Today’s distractive note: Andrew Patrick is starting in CF for Bradenton.
