After winning game two, the Pirates look for a series victory in New York.
Bailey Falter pitched 5.1 innings of one-run ball, striking out five, but the decision went to Colin Selby, who picked up his first major league win despite allowing three runs in 1.1 innings.
Ke’Bryan Hayes picked up two hits and walked twice, while Liover Peguero hit his fifth home run of the season as the Pirates took game two of their three game road series against the New York Mets.
An afternoon series finale on Wednesday leads to a day off on Thursday before the Pirates head to Minnesota to face the Twins.
Johan Oviedo will take the mound for the Pirates, who will be opposed by Tylor Megill.
