You have to give Bae credit for scoring on Hayes' hit. That ball was a laser. VERY few guys score on that. Well, he has 96th percentile sprint speed, per StatCast, so four out of 100 probably.

would be a big development if he emerged as our leadoff hitter

should be playing winter ball in guadalajara and drag bunting every at bat

When that kid gets his wheel going its going to cause bedlam. Right now he's the only guy the Buc's have like that. It's just dumb not to use it while you have it on a offensively challenged club.

Keller is now tied for 7th in Wins in the NL

Also #3 in K’s for the NL

And he’s a #3 or #4 SP on this board ;)

The whole issue with him seems to be, Is he healthy or not? Looks like we're in for another "not" spell.

Amazing stuff in the Bradenton game. In a tie game, the Marauders made four outs on the bases in the seventh and eighth innings. Not one of them was anywhere close. In case you're wondering what's producing the quality of baseball we see in Pgh.

The one difference is the Marauders managed to get two runs anyway.

Best case- Can Priester become Sonny Gray light? Gray doesn’t throw anything over 93-94mph but his cut fastball and ++curve make him a legit #2 starter

Priester needs a cutter. His sinker/slider combo works fine for righties, but lefties just tee off on everything he throws except his curveball. He needs something to pair with it, especially against lefties, and a cutter would be perfect.

He's thrown a couple in AAA this year, at least that's what Baseball Savant has said. He's also thrown a couple tonight.

We should try making contact with the ball instead of missing it so often

I know a lot of people already pointed this out- but why isn’t Endy starting at 1b with Delay catching Keller. Super confused by their “almost” 50% split catching duties the past 2-3 weeks.

Endy's a rookie and rookies have to sit 2-3 times a week. At least until they learn the manager's favorite brand of bourbon.

Really, it's this empty-headed impulse that baseball mediocrities follow. Rookies can't play every day. They might break down crying or something.
