Mitch Keller continued working towards getting back to his top form, helping lead the Pirates to tie their weekend series up against the Minnesota Twins. The All-Star struck out 12 batters in six innings, walking just one and allowing two runs. Andrew McCutchen hit his 11th home run and Ji-Hwan Bae has extra-base hit in both games since returning to the lineup.
If you are talking about Bellinger, he’s THE poster child for a regression candidate. Last I checked, he had one of the largest deviations in all of MLB between actual and expected batting stats. I don’t see any team overlooking that red flag.
Not sure what Miami’s OF situation looks like, but maybe you try to poach some of their pitching in a trade. He def has the trade value to make something work.
No shot we would pay bellinger anyway, was more of a joke than anything. Though, I do wonder if some team might see jack's power and think they can get more out of him than we have
What are you thinking Belli is gonna sign for? I’m thinking 10-$225 million, that’s assuming he could handle CF. If 1b only, then around $180.... either way is gonna be a looooooong shot! Suwinski is gonna finish strong for no other reason that he’s due for a hot streak, if that happens he could probably be off loaded to Cleveland, then again, we need outfielders!!! Worry about Henry, hope he has a Cruz type finish to the season, if not an argument could be made that he’s not a lock to make the team out of ST....
Man, that sucks! Try to shelter inside to stay safe and then when you get suckered in…..Mother Nature then tries to take your shelter apart….. Stay safe! Keep an eye out welll…. for anything and everything!
Angel had much of the season off due to injury. He still has the worst bad calls% and the worst consistency % for the season. The umpires union should not be allowed to keep these bad umps in the majors.
Check out Twitter today, someone said that they think the umpires quit without telling anyone. It doesn't help that Angel Hernandez is behind the plate today, but there are videos from today of so many bad calls. One right down the middle in the Red Sox game where the batter started walking off the field, 0-2 pitch, two outs.
MLB is probably the only organization where they have employees who are so bad that they have been actively working to make their jobs easier for years instead of getting better employees. Nothing happens when they do a poor job. The worst case scenario is that they don't get to do the playoffs
For a game where the ump's decision matters for every single pitch... it's simply unacceptable how the MLB & ump union continue to not take responsibility for bad work on field. Keuchel's "perfect game" would have ended in the SECOND inning with a normal zone!
When we sign belli this offseason, wonder what sort of pitching we might be able to get for suwinski

not a ton of consistency from Mr. Skenes.
So not only are we having storms here in Southern California, but just had an earthquake!

Stay safe!
Ugh
Thank you guys, all is good. Was my son’s first, so there was that!
You suppose Diaz bought stock in the automated strike zone company? He’s the best advertisement for using it that I’ve ever seen.
Check Angel Hernandez from today....or any other day. Today he's been very Angellic

Just laughing 😂

RO - BO!!
RO - BO!!
RO - BO!!
RO - BO!!
This definitely is laughably bad
You see why I want full automation, that challenge stuff will get all fast, just freaking get it right!
Old fast, not all!
The Curve are learning how to score those ghost runners.....or not.....going to the 13th inning.
Joe Perez delivers! HR.
and they still lose. hilarious
Wow that strike call against Wallner was brutal also. And Laz Diaz still has a job

At this point I'm not even asking bad umps to be terminated. Just demote them!

If we take responsibility for bad work, what happens to Ben & Derry?
I've been telling people ever since Shelton's first year ended, with Shelton the Pirates are not going to win any post season games.
And how does he not argue with Diaz after a game like that?? Not expecting Boone-level antics but still something was needed
Not only a job, he’s the crew chief, not going to capitalize his title.
How disappointing for Laz Diaz to be not able to finish up this ridiculous perfect game
Could’ve been part of history!
So sorry Laz you did your best but came up short :(
Claps for bido and borucki on their efforts today
This Davis in right field crap ISN’T WORKING
Keuchel with infinite amount of groundballs combined with prime Laz Diaz zone is just not good for the Pirates
Pretty sure keuchel had 0k on the season before todays game
He has 3Ks today and 2 of them would not be Ks with other umps...
Can the Pirates not get perfect game'd??
Chavez Young with 3 run dinger in the 9th for Altoona. Wasn't he a serious candidate for Pirates 4th OFer.....well he's been not so good at the farm.
Julien looks like a solid hitter
Need one of our 84 2b prospects to turn out like him
