Gameday 154: Pirates open weekend series in Cincinnati with the Reds
Mitch Keller vs Nick Martinez
After avoiding a sweep against the Cardinals, the Pirates will travel to Cincinnati for a weekend series against the Reds.
The Pirates will send their top three pitchers to the mound this weekend, with Mitch Keller kicking things off on Friday against Nick Martinez.
Keller has faced the Reds twice this year, going 1-0 while allowing three earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out 13 in 12.2 innings pitched.
Saturday will feature an interesting matchup: Jared Jones will face Rhett Lower, a top-100 prospect and 2023 first-round pick.
Finally, Paul Skenes will pitch the finale on Sunday.
Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm ET.
